Leaving Khe Sanh at 15 to live in a dormitory at Hue's most historic high school: navigating isolation, academic rigor, and finding community among passionate minds.

For kids in underprivileged areas like Khe Sanh, Quang Tri Province, getting accepted into Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted is like a pipe dream, or even something people never dare to dream of. And I am not even exaggerating on the latter part.
I am probably the third or fourth person in the whole province to pass the entrance test and be placed in the more advanced class. This lack of “role models”, coupled with many other factors, is detrimental to how kids perceive their own capabilities and potential than a lot of you may think.
